The  Construction Industry WOW Show is coming on the 27th February at 10am.

In this special broadcast and in association with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), The WOW Show investigates the wonder of the built environment and the fantastic array of apprenticeships in construction that are now available for young people.

Commissioned by the CITB, this new 35 minute WOW Show will be exclusively about careers opportunities in the construction sector and is scheduled for broadcast (live-streaming on YouTube) at 10am on Wednesday February 27 – the week before national apprenticeship and national careers week.

The Show is presenter led and interactive with various features being shot on live construction locations in different parts of the country which gives the watching student audience the chance to really engage with the programme.

The show will include projects and people from different parts of the UK and shine a spotlight on the unexpected variety of employment opportunities.

Produced by award-winning filmmakers and storytellers, this Construction Special will cover the industry in considerable depth. Through a mix of mini documentary packages, reporter-led films and curated insights, which are then combined with day in the life diaries filmed by young apprentices on their own smart phones, the show is designed to break down myths and challenge perceptions around an industry that is able to demonstrate that it has fulfilling career opportunities whatever a young person’s interest and is genuinely open to all and accessible everywhere.

Designed to help schools address 4 of the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks, the show will be supported with lesson plans that link the content to curriculum learning and will give all students the essential progression and pathway information.

Building Your Future is sure to dispel many stereotypes and preconceptions and will demonstrate why one in ten people in the UK have careers in this sector – from all walks of life and with a huge range of skills.

It is an industry that is open to everyone and is creating a diverse workforce for the future.
