Case Study: Mosaic Art secures public sector contract win with the support and advice of Fit for Legacy (FfL).
Mosaic Art Ltd is a collective of professional and experienced artists headed up by Director and founder Tamara Froud. They work in a variety of media including mosaic, sculpture, furniture and paint, and bring these art forms to individuals, schools and communities.
Tamara came across FfL and decided to register Mosaic Art Ltd to help improve her business in any way. As a small business she wanted support on winning new contracts and part of this was becoming environmentally aware. She knew she needed to have a policy in place and felt FfL would be able to assist her with this.
Tamara attended various FfL workshops around creating an environmental policy and how to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire. Following the training and advice given by an FfL consultant, Mosaic Art Ltd decided to apply for part of a tender with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham as opposed to the entire tender. This allowed them to work to their strengths and position themselves as a suitable business. With her new environmental policy in place Tamara was in a better position to apply for part of the tender and this approach resulted in a contract win and a £20,000 commission for Mosaic Art Ltd as part of the heritage trail in Barking.
“As a sole director it is hard to keep on top of everything. The business needed some help and registering with FfL allowed me to gain confidence and make connections. After the workshops and advice I received, I decided to apply for part of a tender as opposed to all of it which I would normally have done. This had a positive result and we were commissioned. Many thanks for the advice – any more workshops coming up?”
