The Wharf Innovation In Business Awards 2016: Everything you need to know

Entries open for The Wharf Innovation In Business Awards 2016 on Thursday, March 31. Held in association with the East London Chamber Of Commerce (incorporating Docklands Business Club) and principal sponsor Canary Wharf Group , the event will shine a light on extraordinary work being done by companies and individuals in the capital’s most vibrant area.

Here we give you a rundown on everything you need to know about the awards and how to enter.

● What?

The Wharf Innovation In Business Awards celebrates the success, hard work and ingenuity of companies and individuals based in Canary Wharf and its surrounding boroughs.

The event is both recognition for achievements over the last year and an essential networking opportunity – a spark designed to ignite the fire of further innovation, collaboration and disruption.

● How can I get involved?

There are three main ways to get involved with the awards. The first is to enter in one or more of the 12 categories – if you’re proud of your achievements we want to know about them.

The second is to get involved as a sponsor or to advertise your business on the night. We have a number of packages available and are also open to any ideas businesses have who want to work with us to market themselves creatively.

The third is to attend the awards evening. The event provides a vital networking opportunity for anyone involved in east London and we welcome support from businesses.

● How do I enter?

Entries open on Thursday, March 31 with a closing date of Thursday, June 16. You can enter in any of the categories here . There is no cost associated with entering the awards.

● Who will judge my entry?

We have engaged a core panel of expert judges to assess all entries including the chairman of East London Chamber Of Commerce (incorporating Docklands Business Club) Janette Withey, managing director of strategy at Canary Wharf Group Howard Dawber and editor of The Wharf Giles Broadbent.

For each individual category they will be joined by a representative from the business sponsoring.

● When’s the presentation?

The awards will be announced at a glittering black tie ceremony on Thursday, September 29, at the Radisson Blu Edwardian New Providence Wharf . The evening will start at 6.30pm with entertainment late into the night.

● How much are tickets?

Individual tickets cost £85 or £75 for members of the East London Chamber. Tickets are going quickly and are limited. Bookings can be made by calling 020 7510 6055 or email to karen.brodie@wharf.co.uk.

● What can I expect on the night?

We don’t want to give everything away about the awards evening but it will begin with a drinks reception including music from talented, energetic trio Wandering Hands who will circle the room playing guests’ favourite tunes.

There will also be a silhouette artist, cutting accurate likenesses of guests to keep as souvenirs.

This will be followed by a three-course dinner with entertainment and the chance for guests to demonstrate their business brilliance in competition with other tables for bragging rights and prizes. A DJ will then be on hand to help dance the night away.

● Anything else?

There will be a photo booth on hand to ensure everyone gets something to remember the night by as well as a charity raffle with superb prizes donated by local businesses.
